Great breakfast spot on HHI. We showed up at 7am, and there were only a few customers in the restaurant. We were greeted with a smile and coffee. Our server, I forget her name, was a delight. At one point my wife said out loud, "she is a great waitress!" The breakfast options were varied, I had fried green tomatoes and cheesy grits with my breakfast. My wife had eggs benedict, with a great portion of fruit and hash browns. We would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a great breakfast.

Very good breakfast menu with lots of choices so everyone should find something to their liking. I had the veggie omelette with egg whites with a side of salsa. Very good and healthy. The hash browns had a unique flavor that I loved. Good prices for Hilton Head area.

A good solid place for breakfast. Good service and good food. Sort of reminds me of a cracker barrel but better. Solid breakfast choice with a lot of options to choose from. You will not leave hungry.

Great breakfast. I had the New York Eggs Benedict and was very happy with my meal. The NY Benedict is a poached egg over corned beef hash and an English Muffin. The corned beef was very tasty and not too greasy and had a nice crunchy texture. The English Muffin had a perfect toast leaving it crunchy and with a little char that added a nice extra flavor. Very satisfied with my meal. My son had the biscuits and gravy which were perfect. The biscuit was not overcooked and the gravy just right, not to thick or thin. My wife's pancakes were nice and fluffy and perfectly done. Hot syrup would have been a nice accompaniment, but she was satisfied.

A yummy place for breakfast, with the best hashbrowns my husband and I have ever eaten! I had Eggs Benedict with my hashbrowns and it was good, despite the fact that the poached eggs had a solid center. My husband enjoyed his meal, and loved dipping his biscuit in the sausage gravy covering his chicken fried steak. We visited based on the positive Yelp reviews (we're from FL and needed a good place for breakfast), and I am happy to say the other reviewers were on point! I highly recommend this place!

BEST SHE CRAB SOUP ON THE ISLAND. and I should know in a period of two days I had 3 different she crab soups. This one is more of a chowder and it is so delicious my boyfriend ordered it I took one "taste" and suddenly the whole bowl was gone (it had to be magic because I would never be that rude to steal someone else's meal LOL) The sandwich's were good, I am not a huge sandwich fan anywhere so for that I am probably not the best reviewer I liked them which is huge for sandwiches so I think there pretty good. This is your common strip mall type of joint slightly old but it is worth it for the delicious soup (and sandwich if thats your thing)

Went on last day as we headed out from Hilton Head. Food was very good and served quickly after order. Will definitely go back next time in Hilton Head.

5 of my friends and myself came here for brunch and we collectively give this place a 3.5. The hostess was a little abrupt. We sat outside and it was nice because they had a fan blowing on us and a ceiling fan above us so it wasn't unbearable in the summer heat. Our food didn't come out at the same time but when it did come out it was hot which I prefer instead of warm food coming out together. The syrup was in a rubber maid container which some felt was a little cheap. One of the coffee cups had residue of lipstick. But we all ate ALL of our food!! I would recommend this place again and suggest the pancakes, French toast and hash browns.

Just Not Fresh. My family and I happened upon the establishment around 2:45pm for lunch. My husband ordered the Whistle Stop BLT which had 2 slices of bacon and one wilted piece of lettuce on the entire sandwich. The fried green tomatoes were mushy and the peppercorn dressing clearly came from a bottle. My son had the soup of the day, chicken and wild rice, which was as thick as sour cream and also appeared to come from a can. I ate "their best selling salad," the Carribean which consisted of a plate of lettuce, salsa (that was not fresh), canned pineapples and strips of grilled chicken with some variation of spice on top that did not resemble jerked/blackened chicken. The dressing which I asked for on the side was a concoction of honey and fake lime juice. My husband explained his discontent at the meal and to the owners credit, he removed a few items from our bill. Needless to say we will not be venturing back to this establishment. Disappointed.

I just bought the whole coconut cake. It's fantastic! The blue plate lunch was wonderful. Comfort food all the way. Meatloaf, Mac & cheese, okra, apples, cornbread. Everything was fresh and delicious. Need a place like this on the upper West side.

Great breakfast spot for us and we are picky. Food had good portions and good value for the money.

I can see why people would give this place high ratings. It's friendly enough but in my opinion has absolutely no soul. The food, breakfast in my case just slopped on a plate and served. Corn beef hash had a funky taste and texture. It's on a par with a waffle house. Great for some ... just not my cup of tea.

Super fast service. Our waitress was ON it! We were seated pretty quickly and the were busy. Our food came out perfectly cooked. The coffee is good and the bacon is thick and cooked nice and crisp. No wimpy fatty bacon strips here! Breakfast joint in a typical diner atmosphere with good prices and fast service. Sold!

A great breakfast place. We eat here whenever we are in Hilton Head. There is another Plantation near Caligny that is also very good -

Great pancakes, perfect grits, nice service. Skip IHOP and come here for breakfast on Hilton Head!

Eggs were not hot, bacon only partially cooked, pancakes and biscuit were smaller than the other 2 locations, not going back to this location. Others good.

The best pancakes and that too multi grain and healthy breakfast ever had. Ordered hash brown, grits, whole wheat toast and pancakes and omelette. All that was ordered was good to eat and all plates went back empty. Thank you for making the food taste so great. Serving is good too.

All in all, a great little place which you should try not to miss if you're visiting the island! We stopped in here for lunch on our way out of town from a 10-day vacation on the island. Fan-freakin'-tastic! The best "southern"-style cooking that perhaps I've ever had (not to imply I'm an expert). We indulged, and ordered two appetizers: fried green tomatoes and sweet potato fries. The tomatoes came with a nice ranch dipping sauce, and the fries were served with blue cheese crumbles over them. Each were great! I ordered a shrimp salad sandwich, which was really good (more shrimp than salad). My wife ordered a roast beef sandwich, which she had to wrap and take with us because we were too full from the great appetizers! (The sandwich still tasted great later in the car!) I will say, that like most places on the island that we went to, this place could benefit from an additional employee. The place was filled, and there were only two servers on the floor. *We did not particularly feel like we had to wait abnormally long - but it did take a couple minutes for them to sort out a couple of larger parties ahead of us. The waitress seemed a little harried (not implying rude AT ALL) any time she came to the table. There seems to be a theme on Hilton Head that service is just a tad slower than home, and customer service is just a smidge less important that getting people in and out... Maybe all the island's restaurant managers should get together and do something about it...

HORRIBLE experience. I have not walked out of a restaurant in a huff in many years but the waitress this morning made me blow my top. My husband and I went in to eat breakfast after an early morning appointment. The place was not very busy. Our waitress seated us, gave us a menu and took our drink orders....so far so good. Then as we tried to hail her down several times after 15 minutes of her walking around, talking to a few regulars, talking to a child, she said...are you ready. We said YES we are. Then another 10 minutes passed with her not taking our order! Then when the other waiter took a newly arriving customer's order that was IT! WE LEFT and I told her you are obviously TOO BUSY to wait on your few customers! The place was dirty, floor had yesterday's French fries under our table. I'm sure the owner of Plantation Cafes would not appreciate his wait staff's work attitudes. Yes, the other waiter should have taken our order....really in such a small establishment you could team up. There were only 4 tables of customers and one at counter. PHEW...thanks for listening and stay away unless you like to blow up.

Locals spot with friendly atmosphere and nice people. Problem is there is a difference b/w southern pace and plain slow. This place is slow and breakfast is the main event but after 2 tries I would rather go to IHOP across the street (and I hate saying it). Nothing bad... Just a totally average place. I make a great breakfast so I expect at least as good as I can do. Maybe I should open a breakfast place as they have been in business a long time. I may give my 2 weeks

Don't leave without a slice of coconut cream cake - even at breakfast! That's what we did. Food was tasty diner food, not gourmet but wholesome and satisfying Southern fare. We recognized our great waitress Terry who served us last night at Up The Creek Pub too. The perfect way to end our stay on Hilton Head!

Excellent service and good food! Nice, fairly out-of-the-way breakfast/lunch place. Hash browns were awesome! We will be back before the trip is over!!

Best hashbrowns on the island!! Staff is great and keeps those coffee cups full.

Food was ok at best, nothing worth raving about. I sat at the counter, so was able to enjoy the company of the staff. I've never heard someone complain as much as one member. My server was polite and friendly. Gave suggestions. The other woman was quite the opposite. When I sat down she days "you're up" to her co worker. An older couple comes in after me and she says "have fun with that one". Unprofessional. Complaining constantly and talking about how her coworkers need to do their job (this all while she keeps checking her cell phone multiple times). Follow the logic there. Not for me.

Cute little spot we found while trying to kill time before our flight. Great food and friendly service. I had the fish sandwich while my husband had an amazing BBQ sandwich. Best BBQ sauce I've ever had! Highly recommend.

Where is the secret 6th star i can use for exceptional food and service? On our first visit to Hilton Head, we decided to eat at the Plantation Cafe. My wife, her friend, our 1 year old daughter, and myself were all greeted at the door and treated like old family friends. I had the Monte Cristo sandwich and it was unlike anything I've ever had! Everything we ordered was prepared by someone who knew what they were doing! Our waitress swooned over our redhead daughter and kept her entertained. I will be coming back every time I go to Hilton Head!!!

Good food. I had the Monte Cristo and it was delish. My hubby had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries & honey mustard. He loved it. The waitress was nice, but she said "I'm working here alone" when we asked if we could sit outside. We also got the chocolate chewy bar & the coconut cake to take home with us...both were yum yum.

We stopped in for lunch on a whim. It was a great find! Sandwiches were very tasty, fresh, and a perfect size for lunch (not too tiny). Friendly staff. A good place for a quick and reasonably priced lunch.

Hearty southern breakfast and really friendly service! Tip: Our GPS had the restaurant on the wrong side of the street. It is in the Bi-Lo shopping center.

Amazing little restaurant with phenomenal food! I ordered the Half order of French toast and a side of hash browns with ham diced and mixed in. The hash browns were out with this world, and I definitely recommend you add the ham! The French toast had a great flavor to it, and was just the right amount! The staff was quite friendly even though the restaurant was very packed. On top of all of this, the food was very fairly priced! We will definitely be eating here throughout the week!

Breakfast. Locals love it, including my parents who come here often. I had the Creole Skillet that was filling and delicious. They have kids menu too as my daughter got a hello kitty pancake made with care. You can't go wrong for breakfast here. Don't know about lunch.

Had the cheese eggs, toast and grits. All were great, and god bless south carolina for restaurants that really know how to make southern grits.

When we walked ini for lunch the first time we were there, the restaurant looked like nothing unusual. In a strip mall and looking a bit like a diner. But then we looked at the menu and saw fried green tomatoes and a bacon lettuce and fried green tomato sandwich among other great creative sandwiches and knew we were in for something special - and we were not let down. The food is well prepared by someone who seems to care about what they do. The service is friendly. And the prices are very reasonable especially for the large portions you get. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. We've been back and they are consistent. They have a frequent diner program and I am a member because I will be back often.

Excellent service and great food selection. This little cafe sits in tucked away in a strip mall behind bi-Lo grocery store. One of my new favorite places to eat on Hilton head. Everything made fresh and very kid friendly.
